Economic Value of Nursing Position Statement
Second Posting

The primary purpose of the Center’s Position Statements are to respond to current issues within the nursing workforce community; reflect current knowledge; and provide vision and direction to nursing policy and practice. A position statement may be generated from within the Policy Workgroup on Health and Workforce Advocacy or referred from a Constituent Member Association or an affiliate member or the Board of Directors of the Center, when there is a workforce issue of interest to the profession.

The Policy Workgroup on Health and Workforce Advocacy chaired by Dr. Maureen Nalle drafted a new position statement titled The Economic Value of Nursing. After the period of public comment and revisions based on the comments, the position statement is now re- posted as required by The Center for American Nurses bylaws.

This statement will be presented to the Membership during the June meeting for a vote by the delegates to the Membership Council.
